Using a limited palette of Black, White, Yellow Ochre and Cadmium Red, it is possible to paint the warm and cool, light and shadow of the figure model. Demonstrations, exercises, painting from the model.

Level 2 is a continuation of the knowledge and skills developed in Level 1. Will be working from Bargue drawings, plaster casts, and a professional nude model.

Students learn skills and tools that enable them to draw the clothed figure in any action or stances focusing on controlling drawings to convey character, attitude, action, mood and spirit. Students will learn proportion, foreshortening, and the construction and use of folds.

Course covers basic paperfolding techniques, gives an overview of traditional and modern approaches to origami design, and leads the student through a sequence of projects. Diagrams, instructions, and paper will be provided. No prior paperfolding experience necessary.
